Hello, adventurers.

The last month has still held some steady (and satisfying) stretches of creative work, but we’ve also been moving through a family loss. It’s been hard, and it’s meant the routine hasn’t looked as consistent as I’d hoped.

So things have slowed and softened for a while as we grieve, and I’m giving myself permission to adjust the pace. Less “dramatic plot twist,” more “show up when I can, do the reps that fit, let the progress stack slowly.” I’ve been keeping my focus split between writing, art practice, and gathering inspiration, and it’s started to feel like a rhythm I can build on again. Just a gentler one.

The Ink Desk: Writing progress

Most of my creative energy has gone into editing my main story. The unglamorous but important stage where the draft turns into something sharper and more intentional.

This month looked like:

• Returning to scenes with fresh eyes
• Tightening clarity and flow
• Taking notes on what needs strengthening (especially consistency, pacing, and character moments)

No big spoilers yet, but the world is becoming more “alive” every time I revisit it and that’s the part I love most.

The Pixel Table: Art practice

On the art side, I’ve been keeping things simple and consistent. Regular drawing practice, plus small pieces I can actually finish and share.

One prompt I played with recently was “Bonsai”, and I loved how it pushed me toward that tiny world feeling. Like a small doorway into something bigger. That’s the vibe I want more of, quiet magic, small details, and artwork that feels like a miniature scene from a larger fantasy place.

The Portal Room: Inspiration

I’ve also been making space for inspiration, especially reading time. It’s been a good reminder that input matters. The stories, atmosphere, and ideas you absorb always sneak back into your work in the best ways.

What I’m aiming for in the coming months

Nothing complicated. Just a continuation of the routine:

• Keep editing the main story (main quest stays the main quest)
• Write a short prompt paragraph each week
• Share a small artwork/“portal” regularly
• Keep protecting time for reading and refuelling creativity
